VVCTC Students To
Build And Operate
Campus Radio Station

Teachers college will have a radio
station on its campus early next
year. Plans for the station have

idea for it early this fall, but

Frank Murray, Franklin, who
was named temporary production
manager by the members of the
newly-founded Radio club, said |
that the station will broadcast on
a frequency of 550 kilocycles. It
will use the\ carrier-current sys
tem, and will use power lines on the
campus for its antenna. Its range
will be approximately 200 yards.
The station, already constructed
by Mr. Hollifield and John Ray

duled to be on the air one hour

ill for the past two weeks at her

Mr. Glenn Manious of Norton
and Miss Ellen Dills of Sylva were
married in Clayton, Ga. Novem
ber 30th. The couple will make
their home at the present with Mr.
and Mrs. Harley Norris.
A new Baptist church is now
being built at Yellow Mountain.

ness of his mother, Mrs. Clayton
Wood.

Creel Limits Reduced For
Raleigh, Dec. 8. ? Removal of the
size limit on mountain trout and
reductions in creel limits for trout
and crappie were approved by the
North Carolina Wildlife Resources
Commission last week in setting
up *port fishing regulations for
next year.
After voting to take the seven
inch limit off trout, the Commis
sion cut the limit on the daily from
12 to 10. The creel limit for crap
pie, both black and white, was re
duced from 20 to 15.
The year-round open season for
warm -water game fishes was con
tinued, with the stipulation that,
as last year, certain waters may
be designated as spawning areas
and set aside for protection of
warm-water species during the

spawning season. These areas will
be posted and advertised before
beirtg closed to anglers.
The mountain trout fishing sea
son will be the same as in the past
? April 15 through August 31.
In keeping with the policy it
followed in adopting this year's
hunting regulations, the Commis
sion acted on ttoe fishing rules only
after giving sportsmen an oppor
tunity to express their views at a
public hearing.
Other fishing regulations were
re-adopted. Size limits which re
main in effect are: black bass, 10
inches; striped bass (rockfish, 12;
muskallunge, 22; and wall-eye, 15.
There are no size limits on other
game fishes.
