Allison, the son of Mrs. Cary Alli son, has been stationed for the past year with the medical corps of the U. S. Army in Puerto Rico. Beck Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Brown Beck, 61, who died sudden ly Thursday morning at her home near Barkers Creek, were held ! Saturday, February 7th, at the 1 Barkers Creek Baptist church with Rev. Ralph Bradley, the pastor, of ficiating. Burial was in the Keener i cemetery at Sylva. Mrs. Beck, who was born October 26, 1886, was the daughter of the late Henderson and Margaret Gates. She was a member of the Barkers Creek Baptist church. | She is survived by her husband, j I W. J. Beck; three sons, Ebb Brown, of Sylva, and Thurman and Hubert Brown, of Barkers Creek; three daughters, Miss Julia Brown, Bar kers Creek, Mrs. Minnie Ward. Waynesville, and Mrs. Ella Lee Ward, Candler; five brothers, Frank, Fred, Lawrence.
