Funeral Rites For H. Thomas Cotter Funeral services for H. Thomas Cotter, who died suddenly near his home in Hazelwood Wednesday afternoon, were held Saturday at the Culiowhee Methodist church with tne Rev. R. T. Houts, pastor, officiating. HAS MEETING The PTA met Friday, April 2, at 2 o'clock in Miss Jennie Cathey's room at the Qualla school, with! Mrs. Lilliam Gcss, president, in | charge. The outstanding business dis cussed was the requirements for standardizing the school. The purchasing of a new 16mm sound motion picture projector was brought out. Mrs. Mary Kinsland was elected chairman of all the grade mothers. Mrs. Albert Patton, Mrs. Grace Johnson and Mrs. Lilliam Goss were selected as grade mothers for the third grade, Miss Lucy Hall's room. The pre-school clinic will be at' the Qualla school April 20. All, children to be of school age next1 year are compelled to have nil j vaccinations before entering next J term. The next meeting is scheduled! for May 3, when Mrs. Ben Cathey, the music teacher, will have a musical program with the music students. All parents are urged to be present. This will be the last meeting before school closes. The prize for having the most parents present was won by Mrs. Betty Harris' room, the 5th and 6th grades. Barkers Creek News Rockdale Baptist church of Bark ers Creek held an all day meet ing Sunday, April 18, with an es-j timated attendance of five to six hundred people. Singing services began at 10 a. m. and the pasltff" preachcd at 11 a. m. Dinner was spread on the ground' at the noon hour.
