PORT Here And There BY BOBBY TERRELL By Bob Terrell I A million dollar infield ! ! That's what the Sylva Legionaires have at the present with the adition of Tommy Selzer on second and J. C. Price on short to go with Ben Dil- | lard and George Lee. Both boys! are students at WCTC and like j to play ball. And they hustle, too.) Two more boys from WCTC who! ha^e shown up well are Squirt j Williamson, the little catcher, and; Joe Fountain, the lanky pitcher, who hurled himself a nice ball game against Murphy last Wed nesday. We're all glad to see such addi tions to the c^ub and we know that the Sylva club will spell trouble: fcr a lot of teams throughout the summer. We would like to see the club as it stands now go up against Sheriff Smith, Jim Frisbee and Co.. from Hazelwood. It'll come sooner or later and we hope we're around t? see it. Congratulations to Tuck Mc Connell, Head Basketball Coach at WCTC, on the addition of the lat est member of his family, James Alexander, who was born last Sun. day at C. J. Harris Community Hospital. They'll call him "Sandy" which is Scotch for Alexander. The Western Carolina Cata mounts have closed their 1948 sea son. Although their loss column exceeds their wins, they had a better club than the records show. Jim Gudger did a good job on the coaching end of that team and our congratulations also go to him.
