F. Cor bin and Miss Hattie Hilda Sutton, ? joint hostesses. The lower 'floor of the home used for the occasion was lovely, with an abundance of gladioli, white asters and butterfly bush placed throughout the rooms. Mrs. Cogdill greeted the guests and presented them to the receiv-j ing line which included Mrs. Cor bin, Mrs. Ginn, and her mother, !Mrs. L. L. Allen. Miss Sutton in vited the guests into the dining Toom. Here the table with its lace cloth cover, was centered with an| arrangement of pink gladioli and -white asters in a crystal bowl, flanked with candles in crystal holders. Mrs. Hall, Miss Brown Entertain At Bridge The parlors of Moore dormitory at Western Carolina Teachers College formed a lovely setting for the bridge party given by Mrs. D. M. Hall and Miss Hannah Lou Brown as a courtesy for Mrs. Jack Allison, who came to Sylva as a bride in March to make her home here, Mrs. D. M. Hall, Jr., who recently came from Chapel Hill to make her home in Sylva, Mrs L. C. Hall of Hattiesburg, Miss, mother of Mrs. Jack Allison, who is spending a few weeks here and Mrs. David H. Brown, Jr., of Huntington Woods, Mich., who is visiting her husband's parents Mr. and Mrs. David H. Brown, Sr., at Cullowhee. Vases of gladioli and other sum mer flowers were placed through out the rooms. Miss Brown met the guests at the door and Mrs. Hall presented them to the^receiving line, made up of the honor guests. Mrs. Dan K. Moore stood at the door to the back parlor, where ten tables had been arranged for play, and gave out the tallies. After several progressions scores showed that Miss Helen Bird had made high score and Mrs. John Henson had made low score. Both were given prizes, and Mrs. Dan Allison received the Bingo prize while Mrs. W. T Wise captured the slam prize. The hostesses served a salad course with accessories. Geofrey To Present Opening Play Of Theatre In The Sky Waynesville, (Special) ? The 'Theatre In The Sky" company, opening its third season here July 20, will give special performances of the season's five plays at Can ton, Maurice Geoffrey, managing director announced yesterday. The plays will be presented by the Champion Y.M.C.A. in the Clubhouse Gym. Details fur the Summer schedule have been work ed out by J. M. Deaton, Social Chairman, Miss Marion Bell and Grover C. Suttles, Secretary of the Y.M.C.A. with W. Lawrence Ben sun, business manager of'the Thea tre and Mr. Geoffrey. The first presentation in Canton will be*Fri day, July 23, with the second play scheduled for Saturday, July 31. The Formal Optitling of "Thea tre In The Sky" in Waynesville will be Tuesday, July 20, with "Adam's Evening", a farce comedy by Katharine Kavanaugh. The play was made famous by Edward Everett Horton in the motion pic ture version titled "His Night Out". The play is in three acts and provides an hilarious evening of laughter. Pressley Creek H.B7 Club Organized In June, the Pressley Creek Home Demonstration club met at the home of Mrs. H. M. Pressley and reorganized the club, after being inactive for about two years. Officers for the coming year were elected as follows: president, Mrs. W. W. Bryson; vice-president, Mrs. J. T. Flake, and secretary treasurer, Miss Ruby Taylor. Plans for a curb market were explained by Miss Johnston, Home Demonstration agent, and ap- i proved by the club.
