bery and Mrs. Carleton. Other
guest were Mrs. C. C. Buchanan of
Cullowhee, Mrs. D. D. Davis, Miss
Kicks Wilscn, and Miss Virginia
Madison.

Oce Chapter Has Regular
Meeting Wednesday
Oce chapter, No. 139, Order of
the Eastern Star, met in regular
session Wednesday, July 14, with
Mrs. Hazel Cariscn, Worthy Ma
tron, presiding.
The meeting was opened in rit
ualistic order and several items
of business taken up. Oce chapter
has been placed on the Honor Roll,
and a Certificate of Award-was
received -Dy the chapter from Mrs.
Bess Ruck Mangum, Worthy Grand
Secretary.
Mrs. Hazel Carlson and Mrs. Ida
Ealy will be joint hostesses at a
pot-luck supper at Cherokee Is
land, Cherokee, August 11. Each
member of Oce chapter has a cor
dial invitation to attend.

in Claytcn, Ga. The ceremony was
performed by Ed M. Keener, Jus

Mrs. Morgan is the former Alice
Jo Ann Buchanan, daughter of Mr.

made her home for several years.

from Franklinton.

complete tea service was of cry
stal.
During the afternoon Mrs.
Grover W.Ikes, pianist, and Miss
Alice Weaver, soloist, rendered
a number of selections.
About seventy-five guests called
during the receiving hours from
three to five o'clock.
