Schulman's Degtor?ent "for Better Values !n Quality Merchaudise5' (/ W $?? & re From the Inside Out" By Elok Terrell The Western Carolina Cata mounts lost a game Saturday night by breaks. They didn't come wheir way. It's a bad break when a team spans tne length of the leld three times only to bog down and net see re because after push ing that far why shouldn't they ;ain that extra yard or two needed or the touchdown. It's a bad >reak. Three times the Cata mounts drove deep into App ter I'.tory only to fail before they reached pay dirt?twice to the Lwo yard iii.e. We heartily agree with Mr. J( hn S. Seymour of Western Carolina Teaci.ers college faculty wnen he -ays tiu re is no such thing as a .noral victory. If there was, the Catamounts certainly won one Saturday n ght?out moral vic tories don't count poiits and ti.e I ,joints determine the winner. I Ti;e ccmpkt'j Catamount squad |destr\es p^ase for that game. Hwgn Constance, the c .attcrbi.x cental*. Dan Rob?rson, the big right tackle and Jack Arlington, the signal-wi.-u blocking back, all were 60 minute men?and 60 min utes is a long time on a football field Constance and Robinson were 60 minute men at High Point week before last. And that reminds us of an in excusable mistake we made last week when we said the Catamount victory over High Point was the l,rst in the history of Western Carolina. On a complete check of the records we find that a pre war Catamount team beat, the Panthers by 14-0 one y^ar. Pardon us for the mistake, we'll try not to dc it again. We have a lot of praise for the Sylva Golden Hurricanes too. We regret that we were unable to make the trip to Murphy Friday night in order to get a complete and first hand report on the game. But the Hurricanes did win one and mavhe tney'll win some mrre. Anyway, it'll be interesting to watch ttiem when they play Oak lev FncK.v n.ght.
