Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Cordell Funeral services were held Tues day afternoon, Oct. 26, at Qualla Methodist church for Mrs. Jack Coixjill, 26. The Rev. E. O. Thorne, pastor, and Rev. S. T. McGinnis. officiated. Mrs. Cordell passed a way Sunday, Oct. 24, at 8:20 p.m. at the C. J. Harris hospital where she had been a patient for the past five weeks, having been ill since January. Serving as pallbearers were: Prit chard Smith, of Franklin,. Law rence Cordell, Wade Cordell, Glen Cordell, Frank Hayes, and Buddy Smith. In charge of the flowers were: Mrs. Maxine Bowles, Mrs. Wilma Boyer, Mrs. Frances Webb, Mrs. Louise Smith, Miss Melba Cordell, and Miss Virginia Cordell. Garrett's Funeral home in Way nesville was in charge of services. Surviving Mrs. Cordell are the illustrating the solution of some problem in rural living. Entries must be in by March 1. Entries in both student and teacher divisions will be graded on the following basis: 50 points for subject matter, 25 points for logic, 10 points for neatness, and 15 points for literary composition. Schools which have not received bulletins concerning the contest may obtain them by writing the sponsoring magazine.
