This the 15th day of November, 1948. C. r PtTHANAN, Trustee. Nov 13 24 Dec 2 3 FALL QUARTER ENDS TODAY AT WCTO , Today marks the end of the Fall quarter at Western Carolina Teachers college. At 6:05 p. m.1 the examination worries of some 600 students will be over, and the college professors will get the time of their lives in grading test papers and returning the grades to the administration offices before the deadline. For the students, the burden of studying for the quizzes is lifted, but an even greater burden des cends upon them?that of prov verbially "sweating out" their grades. A similar situation exists in every college and university thru out the country. A majority of the students lag behind through the quarter until the final few days which they spend in cramming for their exams. Most of them gef by, some do not. With a few hours of casual study each day students could prevent all the cramming?but?tell that to the students. Registration for the Winter quar ter will be held Monday at West ern Carolina beginning at 8 a. m. and lasting throughout the day. Those same 600 students who to day are "sweating out" their grades, will then be all steamed up and trying arrange their sched ules with no Saturday classes. That is the dream of each one of them. As in the case above, some suc ceed in this, the majority does not. For four long years this hulla baloo goes on for each aggressive student, then comes graduation and the years roll by. With each year, the graduate looks back more and more on his college days and wishes he were back again. whee, is recovering from an op eration.
