Clayton Well, .it looks like logging is about over for this winter. We haven't had any snow here yet, but around 2,000 feet there is quite a lot and we are logging higher than that. You see here in this country the snow starts falling in the early fall on the high peaks and keeps coming down most of the time.- Around Christmas we will have snow down here. I have seen it snow on Mount Phue the last of August. That may be hard to make you folks down South believe but nevertheless it is true. We don't have cold freezing weath er when it is cloudy, but when it clears off look out. We don't see many sunshiny days in winter. The camp closed Tuesday, Nov. 16 until Monday, but from the looks outside now I have my doubts. I am pretty sure some of the boys will be heading South pretty soon. Well, I guess everybody will' iust settle down here and take a 2 or 3 month rest and eat and sleep. We have it coming for we hive worked pretty regular sinc$ '.ast spring. Of course, we will get our rocking chair money. Say, I forgot to tell you we voted to i pay our GI's a bonus in this state. A boy will get $15.00 for overseas duty. That is $15 a month, and $10 while in the states. We also voted to pay the old folks $60.00 per month and believe it or not elected a Republican governor, and a good one for he was in once before. They sure messed up the liquor here. There are a few can sell the stuff by the drink. We sure hope Mr. Truman makes good; if he doesn't, he can't say the 80th Congress is to blame for he has the whole works. Attend Meeting Cullowhee Baptist Choir To Be Heard In President W. E.
