Servant In McKee Home
Pays Tribute to Mrs. M'Kee
It is a pleasure, though a sad
one, to-write this tribute to the
memory of Mrs. Gertrude Dills |
McKee who passed suddenly at
her home Saturday evening Nov.
27. We, the colored people of
Jackson County, feel a great loss
in the passing of Mrs. McKee. We
count it a blessing to have known
her and to have had the oppor
tunity to have her in our churches
and schools. She was always
ready and willing to do what she
could to help us put over a pro
gram, and gave generously of her
means. Her contributions and
service in our community will be
missed. We thank God for her _
bright artd beautiful life and for
her ready word of encourage
ment to all. We shall evfcr remem
ber loving words and kind deeds.
She was a lovable, busy, and use
ful woman. Her deeds s.tand out
like diamonds. She was liberal
with her finance to any cause and
never turned away the out
stretched hand to the poor and
needy. We shall ever cherish the
memory of so noble a life and try j
to the example set by it. She
served and loved Master and tried
His will to do, always helping oth-j
ers, a life so noble, kind and true
Janie M. Whittenburg, a servant
in the McKee home for thirty
years, 1918-1948.
Hunters, be a sport and give the
wild game a chance. Forest fires
do not give animals a chance. It
kills young and old alike. It des
troys eggs and removes the nec
essary forest cover. Don't let any
one say you are not a sportsman.
Remember only you can prevent
forest fires. KEEP NORTH CAR
OLINA GREEN.
Household Hint
When you are using bleach to
whiten cottons or linens, be careful
not to spatter the undiluted bleach
on other/clothes, as ft will remove
color and weaken fibers.
