of 22 member hosptals in the
area, and under the guidance of
a special Citizen Committee composed
of members representing
each of the counties, the Blue
Cross enrollment program was
initiated. Senator Frank M.
Parker, Asheville, is chairman of
the Citizen Committee.
The Health and Hospital Council,
according to chairman S. K. Hunt,
Asheville, feels that widespread
Blue Cross enrollment in the 10th
Medical District will assure the J

porting, and at the same time
solve the problem of the average
family that is unable to pay sudden,
large hospital bills.
North Carolina has two plans {
approved by Blue Cross, The Hos- ]

Association of Chapel Hill. Both
will participate in the Western
Carolina Blue Cross campaign.

ed at Youngstown College,
Youngstown, Ohio., Although his
plans are indefinite he will upon
completion of his course at
Youngstown, probably enter a 1
baptist *ejr\inary to study for definite
Christian service. He is also
talented in music, writing and
oratory. Mr. Scruggs is a brother
of Rev. G. E. Scruggs, pastor of
Lovedale church.

County and a retired farmer.
