Victory H. D. Club Meets
With Mrs. England
The Victory Home Demonstration
Club held its regular monthly
meeting at the home of the president,
Mrs. Ra-lph England, on Wednesday
afternoon, Sept. 27, with
15 members present.
Mrs. England presided over the
business session at which time
plans were made for the annual
Achievement Day Exhibit. The
club members also voted to order
Christmas cards to sell. Several
other small matters of business
were disposed of at this time.
In the absence of Miss Mary
Johnston, Mrs. England had charge
of the program and distributed
leaflets on "The Care of Flowers".
She also brought out many interesting
points on the use of wax
in the home. &
Mrs. England, assisted by Mrs.
Harold Morgan, served a salad
course and coffee. The next meeting
will be with Mrs. Chris Davis
on October 25.

Mrs. W. J. Fisher, of this city,
passed away at his home in Newport,
Tenn., on Tuesday, September
26. Funeral service and burial
were held in Newport Thursday,
the 28th. Mrs. Fisher was at the
beside of her father when he
died, having been called home
some days before. Mr. Fisher attended
the fuenral and returned to
Sylva with Mrs. Fisher this weekend.
