the commencement at the Salem Female
Seminary. Miss Lottie Thornton, of this
city, read an essay on "Venezuela."
Mr. J. W. Ingold received this morning
an exaet fac-simile of the famous pitch
fork presented to Senator Tillman' in
Chicago. On the handle of the fork, which
is silver, is engraved the name of Tillman,
and on its three prongs are spitted three
gold bugs, on the back of each of which
is engraved a name. Of course the three
names are Cleveland, Carlisle and Sher
man.
