It seems that Fore and some other pprty were about to en gage ina fight during the dinner tour and that Sheriff G. W. Cole seeing that' trouble was about to arise, interfered for the purpose of preventing it. When he ap proached the party's, the defen dant, Fore, made an assault on him and after being thrown down by Cole, he arose and attempted to use a pistol, which was knock ed out of his hand by some one standing close by. His t pistol taken from him he then resorted to the use of his knives, with which he cut Dennis Merrill pret t.v severely on one of his . hands and also on the arms. Hubert Rice and a Wilds boy were cut slightly, while Jasper Bryan and some other man came near being cut Sheriff Buckner was near by when informed of the trouble and soon took the defendant into cus tody.
