I There should be plentiful supplies of, food for America's record, level ppetltes- in 1966 with -retail prices continuing about as low a in 4966. Ralph W. .Burger, president of the Great Atlantic A Pacific Tea Com pany,, said today. , Mr. Burger said that food prices in 1968. were 1.5 per cent lower than in 1964 and 4.8 per cent below the post World War II, peak reached in 1952. The over-ay cost of living in 1955, he noted, was down only four tenths of one per cent. "Present forecasts show that food production during the new year will come dose to the record 1955 level and that prices to consumers will re main about the same. With aver age weather there should be ade quate food supplies to meet consum er demand," Mr. Burger said, "This is a record and an outlook that the food industry can be proud of," Mr. Burger declared. "It shows that the odrerly downward trend ox food costs continued without inter ruption in 1966.
