peed M representative of the
Republican Party.
jjfrv Clyde H. Roberta, chairman
of the Madison County Republican
xacutiT t Committee, stated, "Our
party'i"' recommendationa, properly
submitted, were- so completely ig
nored that we might as well not have
had a Republican member on the
board."
"Obviously, the business transac
tion of selecting the respective reg
istrar and judges had already been
completed prior to the organization
of the board. I think all good citi
zens will have a ready answer as to
why they want a complete list of
registrars and judges of their own
selections," Mr. Roberts said:
"This fits like a pattern over the
way they started last election and
everybody knows how that election
turned out," he said. '
"This is 'Democracy' in Madison
County. Res assured we plan to
appeal to the State Board of Elec
tions charging the irregular proced
ures of the board in its initial meet
ing here Saturday," Mr. Roberts
concluded.

DEADLINE FOR
SPRING SEEDING
Now here's a messafe from the
ASC Committee. Novile. Hawkins,
Chairman of the Committee, says
that this is no time for farmers to
let up on conservation. . He thinks
this i the time to build up soil re
serves. Population is going to keep
right on increain. We don'know
what the world situation will bring.
So, he thinks it's best to be ready.
Keep our farms ready for whatev
er may come. That meads keeping
the land in good condition. He
points out that the Agricultural
Conservation Program for 1956 is
emphasizing permanent or enduring
typee of soil building conservation.
Farmers who haven't signed up in
the ACP may do so now. Just call
at the local ASC Office which is lo
raterf at Marshall. April 15 has
been designated as the closing date
for applying for and securing as
sistance on spring seeding practices.
