Ramsey spent last week in Norfolk, Va., visiting their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dedrick Rob erts. Bernard Ramsey left last Sun day morning for Camp Walker Air Force Base, Rosrwell, New Mexico, after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Ramsey, of Marshall. Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Roberts and family recently returned from Topsail Beach, Jacksonville, N. C, by WBy of Burlington where they visited Dr. and Mrs. J. Ernest Roberts. While in Jacksonville, they visited Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Sandlin. R. J. Rice returned Friday from Iceland where he has been em ployed by a construction firm. Mrs. Kenneth Dennett, Churchill St., Richmond, Michigan, were united in marriage Saturday, June 16, 1956 in the Congregational Church in Richmond. Rev. William Edwards, pastor, officiated at the 4:00 p. m., cere mony in the presence of the im mediate families and a few close iriends. For her marriage the bride chose a gown of white net over blue taffota. She wore white ac cessories and carried a nosegay of white carnations. She was giv en in marriage by her brother, Ray Ramsey, of River Rouge. Mrs .Ray Ramsey, the bride's sister-in-law. and Roger Ensley, cousin of the bride, attended the couple. In the evening a reception was held in the couple's home in Fair Haven. Mrs. Dennett is a graduate of Walnut High School, class of 1956. Mr. Dennett graduated from Richmond High School in 1954. joyed visiting with friends. relatives and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ramsey and daughter, Ann, spent the week end in High Point as guests of Mrs. Ramsey's brother-in-law and sister,- Mr. and Mrs. A. G. West. The Ramseya other daughter, Sandra, who had spent two weeks in Norfolk, Va., as the house guest of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Padgett, and their daughter, Linda, met her parents in High Point and returned home with them. Franklins Visit At Niagara Falls Mr. and Mrs. Tom Franklin, Mr. Wendell Franklin and daugh ter, Miss June Franklin, returned last week after spending a week in Niagara Falls, New York with Mr. Tom Franklin's son, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Franklin. They visit ed Canada while up there and all enjoyed the trip very much. Attending GOP Convention In San Francisco Loy P. Roberts of Marshall is attending the Republican Nation al Convention in San Francisco as an alternate delegate from the Eleveth Congressional District of North Carolina. He was elected to serve in place of Craig L. Ru disill, late of Madison County. Mr. Roberts left by plane Satur day afternoon, August 18, along with Mr. J. S. Dockery, attorney from Rutherfordton, who is chair man of the Republican Executive Committee of the Eleventh Con gressional District. Stork Shower Given For Mrs. Henderson Last Saturday Night Mrs. Everett Henderson of Mar shall, was honored at a stork shower at her home, given by Mrs. Lela Henderson and Mrs. Janie Cook, Saturday night, Au gust 18. Several games and contests were enjoyed, with prizes being award ed the winners. Refreshments were served to the approximately thirty guests who attended. Mrs. Henderson received sever al beautiful and useful gifts. Ramsey Reunion To Be Held On Sunday, Aug. 26 The descendants of Billy and ijally Ramsey will hold their an nual family reunion at the Lan don Roberts Farm on Walnut Creek on Sunday, August 26. The reunion will get underway at 12 o'clock noon with a picnic lunch. All families are asked to bring a picnic lunch with them. Mrs. Craig Rudisill Jr., of Mar shall, organist, and Henry Clay Edwards of Mars Hill, soloist, presented a program of wedding music. Mr. E-dwards sang "Oh Promise Me" and "Through The Years." Mrs. Rudisill played "I Love You Truly," "Ah Sweet Mystery of Life' "Indian Love Call." and "Clair de Lnne." The traditional wedding marches' were used. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Lashley of Royal Pines. The bride was given In mar riage by her father. She wore a gown of bombazine silk over rose point lace, with portrait neckline. The bouffant skirt of the lace had an apron overskirt of the silk appliqued with the face designs, and ended in a chapel train. She wore a coronet of luster pearls and a veil of illusion, and carried a bouquet of white roses. Miss Joyce McKinney, eousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Misa.
