The purpose of the school was
to train 4-H leaders in tractor
maintenance so they may teach
other 4-H members in this pro-

this protection.
The action was taken a t a
meeting of the fire department
last week. Fire Chief Allen

now beinir made to secure an ad
ditional fire truck, which will be

zles, axes and other fire fighting
equipment plus a pump on tne
truck for pumping water from a

fire truck to remain within the

Mrs. Don Payne, the former
Miss Jewel Worley, daughter ' of
Mr. end Mrs. Plato Worley, of
Marshall, was painfully injured
Wednesday afternoon when the
tractor she was operating got out
of control and crashed down an
embankment. The accident occur
red near the home of her parents
and the trailer she and her hus
band live in.
She was taken to an Asheville
hospital where her condition is
satisfactory. She sustained se
vere bruises.
Mrs. Payne is employed at the
Citizens Bank here and her hus
band is a teacher at Spring Creek
High School.
