A COLLECT FOR CLUB
WOMEN
Keep us, oh God, from pettiness;
let as be large in thought, in word,
in deed.
Let us be done with fault-finding
and leave off self-seeking.
May we put away all pretense
and meet each other face to face
without self-pity and without
prejudice.
May we be never hasty in
judgment and always generous.
Let us take time for all things;
make us to grow calm, serene,
gentle.
Teach us to put into action our
better impulses, strightforward
and unafraid.
Grant that we may realize it is
the little things that create differ
ences, that in the big things of
life we are as one.
And may we strive to touch and
to know the great, common human
heart of us all, and, oh Lord God,
let us ferget not to be kind !
For the next three weeks we
will center our thoughts around
Christmas gifts and giving.
It is always a good idea to plan
gifts for members of the family,
loved ones and friends just as
early as possible. Perhaps you
have already done this. "Not on
ly Christmas but all "the year
through the joy you give to oth
ers is the joy that comes to you."
Often the unexpected little things
are greatly appreciated.
Have you ever thought of gath
ering pine cones and treating
them with the following which
will give a variety of wonderful
colors when you burn them in
your open fires during the Christ
mas holiday season.
