Springs on Monday, the 4th. y
After the skeet, trap and pistol
shoot, the Babe Rufh All-Star
game was played on the school di
amond. A selected team of players
from Mars Hill and Marshall play
ed a team composed of players
from Walnut, Hot Springs, and
Laurel. The Marshall-Mars Hill
team scored five runs in the top
of the seventh inning . to defeat
their opponents, ' 7-5 : in an excit
ing game. Arthur. Davis (Mars
Hill) was the winning, pitcher
while Freddie Sharpe (Hot
Springs) was charged with the
loss.. Freddie Candler (Marshall)
was the leading hitter . with two
singles and a double in five trips.
For the losers, Bobby Franklin
(Laurel) led at the plate with 2
singles in three trips.
