He was m graduate of Marshall
High School and the University of
North Carolina. '. He had taught
in the public schools at Flat Creek
in Buncombe County in ' 1929-30,
For the past 25 years he had been"
associated with the G. L. McKinney
Department Store-, in Marshall,
which was founded by his father.'
Mr. McKinney had served as
memoer or tne Doard oi directors
of the Bank of French Broad for
20 .years, and was vice president
of the bank until he resigned in
January' this year. '
He was also a member , of Mar
shall Merchants Association. -
Services were - conducted at 2
p. m Tuesday in Marshall Meth
odist Church by the Rev. s W. C.
Clark, and burial was ill JPritchard
