Ramsey and vie chairman Mrs. Latrelle Robinson have been in vited to represent their organ isa don at a Democratic Party Con ference in Raleigh on March 29 and 80, it was announced this week by State Party Chairman Bert Bennett All county chairmen and vie chairmen hay been asked to take part in three sessions of briefings, Bennett said, designed to furnish them more information concern ing state government, the issues of the 1963 General Assembly and state party matters. The conference will begin or Friday, March 29, in the Hall of the House at the Capitol where each delegate will register and re ceive a kit of supplemental infor mation to assist with the brief ings. Party affairs and activi ties will feature the morning ses sion and close with a discussion of several phases of state govern ment by state officials and depart ment heads. The diversion payments are governed by the individual farm yield, grain base, and extent of diversion. The program is strctly a voluntary one as far as participation is concerned how ever, producers who (desire to re tain price support eligibility on the feed grains which they pro duce must participate by diverting a minimum of 20 of their farm base. The 1963 Program also pro vides for a price support cash pay ment on grains produced on the permittted acreage on farms which take part in the program. In conclusion, Ramsey said that the interest shown in this year's program has been very gratifying to the County ASC Committee and Personnel and that Friday, March 22, marks the end of this year's sign up period.
