Mr. and Mrs. Roger McClure of Glen Burnie, Md., and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Chandler and two daughters, Pam and Christy, of Cookrille, Tenn., spent the Easter holidays here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chandler. Miss Mildred Stines of Glen Al pine and Miss Jean Stines of Asheville spent the week-end in Marshall with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fuller Stines. Mrs. Jack Frauson of Bryson City spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hensley. Mrs. Frauson is the for mer Miss Joy Lou Hensley. Mrs. James Penland spent the Easter week-end in Lancaster, S. C, with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Sprinkle spent the Easter week-end in Charlottesville, Va., as quests of their son-in-law and daughter, Lt. and Mrs. Joe Malinoski, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Fuller Stines, Mrs. Bill Roberts and three children of Marshall; and Miss Jean Stines of Asheville spent Easter Sunday in Glen Alpine as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stines and family and Miss tlildretl Stines. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ramsey of Knoxville visited Mr. and Mrs. Walter Runny last week-end. Mias Sandra Ramsey and Jerry Patton of High Point, visited Hiss Ramsey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ramsey, during the East er week-end. ; Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Mayhew visited his brother, Mr. B. L. May hew and family at Mount Holly last week-end. They also visited Mr. Mayhew's parents at States rille. Mrs. Ethel W. Roberts and her sister, Miss Nevada Ward; Mrs. J. N. White, Mrs. James Story, and Frank H. Runnion attended the funeral of Robert Cole Anders in Hendersoville Saturday after noon. Mr. Anders, a native of Madison County and cousin of Mrs. White arid Mrs. Story, was killed in an automoboile accident near Conover on Tuesday of last week. His daughter and aunt, who were critically Injured in the wreck, re main patients in a Newton Hos- m . '. Pfo and Mrs. William J. Cald well, who have been spending two weeks with their paranja here and in Arden, returned Monday to their home in Grovetown, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Philip E. Brintnall of Bryson City were visiting her father, William V. Farmer, and other relatives and friends here last Sunday. Mrs. Carmel Clark Dies This Morning; Funeral Saturday Mrs. Carmel Clark, 21, of Rt 6, Marshall, died this (Thursday) morning, April 26, 1963, at her home after a two weeks illness. Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Upper Laurel Baptist Church. The Rev. Harold Cable and the Rev. Horace Honeycubt will offi ciate, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Albert Bish op, Jones Mace, Johnny Baldwin, Richard Baldwin, Harris Dodd, and Sherman Collins. Surviving are the husband, Car mel Lee Clark; one son, David Lee, of the home; one daughter, Deborah Diane of the home; par ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rowe, Rt. 2, Weaverville; five sisters, Mrs. Jones Mace of Spruce Pine, Mrs. Harris Dodd of Weaverville, Mrs. Johnny Baldwin of Nashville, Tenn., Miss Mary Ruth Rowe, of Rt. 2, Weaverville, and Mrs. Al bert Bishop of Weaverville. Mrs. Ella Rector of Marshall Rt 1, is a patient in Aston Park Hospital where she is undergoing treatment Mrs. John Brigman has been recuperating at her home for sev eral days from burns she received on her leg. Mrs. Jim Story underwent sur gery Wednesday at the Memorial Mission Hospital. Her condition is satisfactory. C. E. (Lige) Henry is a pa tient in Memorial Mission Hospi tal where he is undergoing treat ment following a fall from which he suffered a broken hip. Mr. A. L. Buckner of Big Pine, was a patient in Aston Park Hos pital this week, where he was un dergoing treatment. Mrs. Ron Wilson of Marshall is a patient in Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, where she is un dergoing treatment. Fred Sprinkle of Asheville, for merly of Marshall, returned to his home Sunday from Memorial Mission Hospital where he was a patient for several days. Bill is an Eagle Scout, active church member and an A-etudent in the junior class at Sanford Cen- tral High School, where he Is in the top five percent of his class. Ha plana to enter Davidson Col lege after graduation. Ha was chosen from a score of students who participated in district sci ence fairs sponsored by the N. C. Academy of Science and Depart ment of Public Instruction. He is a member of the high school band and annual staff, a member of the science club, mem ber of Boy Scout Air Squadron 948 arid holds the Eagle and God and Country awards. Mr. Edney is the eon of Mrs. Palma Edney of Marshall, and the late Calvin R. Edney.
