Dean Briggs, who is in Naval service and has the rating of "Chief," left Saturday after a two weeks visit here with his parents. He is being transferred from the Jacksonville Naval Base to the Air Force Base on the Azores, where he is to be a member of the staff. Miss Joyce Metcalf, 18, of Rt. 1, Mars Hill, died at her home Friday afternoon, May 24, 1963. She had suffered from a heart ailment for several years.
