Joe Woods, s prominent young
farmer of the Shutin community,
has been in a coma in Otesn Hos
pital, and is in a very serious con
dition. Entering the hospital 3
weeks sgo, for abdominal surgery,
he suffered a stroke and his been
in a coma since.
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Woody and
Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Sumerel have
returned from an extended auto
trip to Canadian points of interest.
The Burlington Mills were clas
ed last week so that all the em
ployees could take ther annual va
cation. Mr. H. A. Crowson and daugh
ter, Nancy, of Clearwater, Fla .
have returned home after a visit
to Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Kirby.
Quarterly Conference of the
Methodist Church, consisting of
Hot Springs, Fairview and Antl

Fairview. Despite the downpour
of rain, it was well attended.
Mrs. J. A. Roberts, who suffer
ed a fractured hip from a fall

have returned home.

in West Greenville Bapist Church.
The bride's father, pastor of the
church, gave her in marriage and
was assisted by the Rev. Lester
Crayton of Ashevillo in performing
the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of tne

Bridwell of Greenville, formerly of
Marshall.
The groom is the son of Mrs.

Few Hours Apart Here
Mrs. Gertie Tweed Worlev died
bare at 1:12 a. m., Sunday, August
10, 1964, and her mother, Mrs.
Lorenzo Tweed, died less than
eight hours later. Both were life
long residents of this county.
Mrs. Tweed was 88 and her
daughter was 69. Both lived with
another of Mrs. Tweed's dsugh-
ten, Mrs. C. L. Parrls of Marshall.
Mrs. Tweed, who died at 8:80
m.. did not know of the deatn
of her daughter during the early
morning. She had been in a coma
for some time.
Mrs. Worlev. the widow of Jos
Worley of Walnut Rt. 1, had also
been ill for a long time. They had
no children.
