Ramsey) came to Madisor County in 1928 at Home Demon stration Agent Her B.S. (plus graduate work) in home econom ies from Peabody College, Nasn ville, Tenn., led to teaching at Conway College, Ark., and Ander son College, S. C. Served as H.D Agent for six years in county. Resigned to marry Robert R Ramsey of Walnut, former sheriff and state representative. Business experience: Manager of office, Asheville Livestock Market; Ramsey's General Mer chandise and Feed Store at Wal nut; Helped build up Grade A Dairy and tobacco farm. Aided husband in general assembly in 1953. He is a successful farm er of the Brush Creek communi ty near Walnut His education was received at Walnut High School. Mr. Craine is a Master Mason, a member of French Broad Lodge No. 292. He has served as Walnut Township chairman for the Republican Par ty and on the Marshall Township Farm Committee. He is fifty-three years of age and a member of the Red Hill Free Will Baptist Church. His wise farm management practices are an indi cation of how well he will servo as our next county Tax Collector, in which capacity he can use his prudence and wisdom to good ad vantage for the people of Madison County. He is a life long Repub lican. He is married to the for mer Hazel Jeanette Beck and they have three children. RON SPRINKLE, candidate for Madison County commissioner, is in the retail grocery business in Marshall, owner and operator of Model Grocery. Mr. Sprinkle is a graduate of Jefferson City (Tennessee) High School and attended Carson New man College in" Jefferson City. He is a World War II veteran and is a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the American Legion. He is a Past Commander of VFW. Member of Marshall Merchants Association; Past President, Mar shall Merchants Association; Member Marshall Lions Club; Chamber of Commerce. Member Marshall Baptist Church. BILL SILVER' i a fadut of Man HW High School. Silver pursued his education at Western Carolina Teacher's College where he received a B.S. degree in Bus iness Education, with a minor in English. He served for three and one-half years in active Navy duty during World War II as a Navy Pilot, seeing action in the South Pacific; was discharged as a Senior Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve. Silver married the for mer Claudia Avis Hendren of Pa cific Beach. California; they have three children. He has led an ac tive church and civic life. His civic activities include: Member ship in French Broad Lodge No. 292 AF&AM of Marshall, Past Master and Past District Deputy Grand Master of 54 Masonic Dis trict, 32 Scottish Rite Mason, member of Membership Commit tee and Ambassador for Mar? Hill, a Shriner, member of Robinson-Carter Post No. 435 of American Legion of Mars Hili, member and deacon of Mars Hill Baptist Church. DOYLE B. CODY, prominent fanner and dairyman of the Cali fornia Creek section of Madison County. Attended Mhrs Hill and West ern Carolina College, Cullowhee. Mr. Cody not only ia an out standing demonstration farmei but is also a talented musician. He is a member of the California Creek Baptist Church and is mu sic director in the French Broad Missionary Baptist Association. He not only owns a large dairy but also operates the farm- Cody is a veteran of the United States Army where he served two years. He is married to Miss Judy Phillips. the former BILL ZINK is well qualified to serve as County Auditor. He grad uated from Lee Edwards High School after attending Marshall High School He received further education at Warren Wilson Jr. College at Swannanoa, N. C, and at Mars Hill Jr. College. He serv ed with the U. S. Merchant Ma rines. Zink is a former owner of Marshall Tiro and Recapping, and a co-owner of the Madisor Oil Company at Marshall. He I self-employed as owner and op erator of Bill's Tire Supply at Mars Hill. He is married to for mer Madison County Auditor, Miriam Eller. and they have five children. Zink has been active in civic affairs, having eerved as president of the Marshall Lions Club, Zone Chairman of Zone 4 of District 31-A, Lions Interna tional. Also, he has rendered service as Deputy District Gov ernor of District 31-A of Lions International. Zink is a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. CHAUNCEY METCALF ia qualified to serve aa Madii County Register of Deeds. He ia the son of the late John Metcalf of the Petersburg section of tile connty. In 1929 he married Miss Ella Callahan. They have raised a family of six children. He is a lifelong farmer and fol lows the carpenter trade. Mr. Metcalf has long been active In church and civic affairs. He is presently the Master of French Broad Lodge No. 292 at Marshall and is chairman of the Board of Deacons of Long Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Metcalf is a mem ber of one of the pioneer fami lies of this county. His careful and thorough approach will stand in good stead in managing the Register of Deeds office.
