De votions were given by Lucretia Freeman and 4-H Sunday was dis cussed. Then a demonstration was given on tobacco plants by War ren Roberts. The next meeting will be held June 1 at this same home, when Steve Fowler will talk on vegeta bles. Boys and girls belonging to a community 4-H club had an op portunity to see slides on the camp during the month of April. There are many former 4-H members living in communities where clubs have not been organ ised. Any boy or girl in these communities who has been a 4-H member or would like to join a community club when ort ized may attend 4-H camp this sum mer. Mr. Roberts is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Roberts of Al exander RFD 1. The Rev. Lloyd V. Roberts, brother of t bridegroom, conduct ed the ceremony. The bride was given in marri age by her maternal randfather, Floyd L. Cummings of Asheville RFD 1 .She wore a wedding gown of white Chantilly lace over taf feta with a veil attached to a cor onet of pearls and carried white carnations on a Bible. Mrs. Linda Roberts of Leices ter, cousin of the bride, was ma tron of honor. She wore a vellow eyelet dress and carried blue iris. Miss Brenda Woodv. cousin of the bride, was flower sriri. Jack: "Well, it wouldn't be much use sending you for a pound of sausages." 4-H Leaders Attend State Conference Near Reidsville James and Dorothy Arrington, 4-H leaders for the Grapevine 4-H Club, represented the Madison 4-H ADULT LEADERS CONFERENCE Near ly 100 leaders attended the 4-H Adult Leaders Con ference at the Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center near Reidsville, May 10-13. Three of the delegates were Mr. and Mrs. James Arrington, Marshall Rt. 6 (left) and Dr. Lillian Rich, Black Mountain. County leaders at the State 4-H Leaders Conference May 10-18. They were among eighty-seven adult leaders from the various counties in North Carolina to at tend the event held at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Camp near Reidsville. The program was designed to help all the leaders to have a bet ter understanding of the needs of boys anld girls in 4-H club work. The importance of each club hav ing some type of planned recrea tion at each monthly meeting was emphasized to the group. The Arringtons found that be ing a 4-H leader in Madison Coun ty is not much different from be ing a leader in the other counties of the State. All have one goal in common, to help boys and girls increase their knowledge, leader ship abilities and develop their skills.
