Ball called at their home last iSunday to offer congratulations on the occasion of their 50th wed ding anniversary. Three of their children who live at a distance were not able to be present, but all seven of them plan to come the first of July and be here for a few days together. Several members of the Dudley Marshbanks family met last Sun day at the Paint Gap church for a Decoration service and a family reunion. All of the children could not come. Those present were: Mrs. French Holt, of Galax, Va.; Joe Marshbanks, of Charlotte; Mrs. Joe Chandler, of Weaver ville; Willard Marshbanks, of Tampa, Fla.; and Mrs, J, G. Briggs, of Mars Hill; their moth er, lira. Greg Metcalf (the for mer Mrs. Marshbanks) was with them. There were also other rel atives and friends present for the occasion. Visitors here last week-end in clude: Mrs. A. H. Becker, of Fort Rucker, Ala., who spent three days here with her mother, Mrs. L. L. Vann; 151 rs. Evelyn Vance, who visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McLeod, Mr. and Mrs. John McLeod; and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Tilson and family, of Winston-Salem, who visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Til son. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Phillips and family are spending this week in Jacksonville, Fla., and other points of interest.
