Melvin Lutz, wife and lit tle daughter have moved to Tal Jahassee, Ftbirida as he is enter ing the University of Florida. Mr. Lutz served as pastor of the Baptist Church for two years and made many friends here who re gret to see them go. The Baptist Bible School closed Saturday with a nice program. Mrs. Floyd Gregory and chil dren, Eldora, Marty, Karen and Paul are spending the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maney. Mrs. John Van Nest and her sister, Mrs. Brooks have gone to Holdens Beach for a week's visit with her daughter, Mrs. Fritz Van iNest. Mrs. Brooks will return to her home in New York City after la few days at the beach. Mr. John p. Kirby of Hunts ville, Alabama is visiting Bob and Nellie Kirby this week. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Club held Its regular monthly meeting Thursday, June 1 at 7:30 p. m., at the Salvation Army Center. Mrs. Emma Kate Davis presided. Fi.acV - ' Rev. Mrs. Max Osteen, treasurer, gave her report and also reported on the flower project. She also suggested that the club pay far one seat in the new Antioch Meth odist Church, which everyone thought was a good idea. OYSTERS FRIED or STEWED 'Clyde - Chandler, 65, of Mars Hill RL 2, died Unexpectedly last Thursday afternoon, June 1, 1967 in his home. He was a retired U. S. postal employe, and a 'son of the late W. M. and Nancy Scoggins Chand ler. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Dexter Ray Chandler; a daugh ter, Mrs. Ralph Robinson of Mars Hill Rt. 2; a son, Clyde Chandler Jr., of Weaverville Rt. 2; a broth er, Floyd Chandler of Mars Hill Rt 2; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held at 2 p. m,, Saturday in Bethel Baptist Church, i f which he was a member. The Rev. Lloyd Roberts and the Lev. Harold Ray officiated and burial was in ('handler Cemetery.
