4-H News
The Laurel Mountaineers 4-H
Club has enjoyed some good meet
ings this summer.
In July we had a cookout with
a program on Salety given Dy
Edgar Willis. The cookout was
rained inside, but the hamburgers
were delicious, anyway.
Our August meeting was record
book workshop. Miss Madge Guf
fey met with us and gave us some
good ideas about keeping records
on our projects.

Native Of; Walnut '
Dies In Alabama
E. M. Ramsey, 80, of Oxford,
Alabama, and a native of Walnut,
died Tuesday, August 29, 1967, in
an Oxford hospital following a
lengthy illness. He was a brother
of Sherman Ramsey and the late
Robert R. Ramsey. He moved
from this county about IB years
ago.
Funeral services will be held at
2 p. m., Friday at Berry Funeral
Home. Chapman Road, Knoxville,
Tennessee. Burial will be in Knox
ville.
He is survived by his widow,
Mrs. Ethel Ramsey and seven
children.

Funeral On Monday
Mrs. Ottia L. Wallln, 68, of Rt
4, Marshall, died Saturday, Au
gust 19, 1967 in a Greeneville,
Tenn., hospital after a brief ill
ness. She was a lifelong resident of
the Spillcorn section of Madison
County and a daughter of the late
Andrew and Rosa Moore Bishop.
Surviving in addition to the
husband are two daughters, Mrs.
Warren Shelton of Melvindale,
Mich, and Mrs. Roy R. Sweigard
of Panama City, Fla.; a son,
Charles L. Wallin of Marshall Rt.
4; a brother, Paschal Bishop of
Bluntsville, Tenn.; three sisters,
Mrs. Wiley Rice of Marshall Rt.
6, Mrs. Cora Jones of Greeneville
and Mrs. Dowdie Tweed of Mar
shall Rt. 4; eight grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p. m.
Monday at the residence.
The Rev. Champ Rice officiated.
Burial was in Bishop Cemetery.
Nephews were pallbearers.
