Anoth er clinic will b held at Madison Seminary Baptist Church, May 1 and 2, beginning at 7:30 each eve ning. Bach clinic has been divid ed into two two-hour sessions. Therefore, to complete a full clin ic each person is urged to attend two successive nights at one ol the above named places. The second night will be a continuation of the preparation and not a rep- ititon of the wevious night. The! clinics are scheduled to adfjourrt promptly at 9:30 p. m. Considerable planning and prep aration have gone into these clin ics. Last January five of the workers, who will be leading the clinics, spent three days of in tensive training at our statewide Vacation Bible School Clinic, at Wingate College. Room on the Mars Hill College Campus. The purpose of the meeting is to elect tne noara oi ii rectors and to review the work of the Corporation to date. Asheville's Most Costly Fire Destroys Buildings Estimated $2,000,000 Loss 57 Dunham s, Bank Building Gutted A $2 million fire of unknown origin struck the heart of down town Asheville Tuesday, gutting two buildings on Patton Avenue which housed the Bank of Ashe ville and Dunham's Music House. Asheville's entire fire-fighting1 force furiously battled the blaze for three hours before bringing it under control and at one point soon after the fire began, three other banks and several adjacent buildings were threatened. It was the most expensive con flagration in the history of Ashe ville. BOARD BILL Passage Would Put County Under Statewide Setup A bill to tut Madison County under the statewide elective school board law received a favorable re- t. font Thursday from thfl Senate Education Committee. Sen. Bruse B. Real izing that the maid at the store had gone upstairs, Billy Ray quickly thought of her safety and ran up to the. second floor and told her the building was on firs. Annual Awards Night On May 2 At Mars Hill The annual Awards Program for the E. H. Clubs of Madison County will be held in the Mars Hill Moore Auditorium at 7:30 p. m., Friday, May 2. Coffman, Prospective Doctor, To Meet People At Picnic Mayor Charles G. Shaffer, of Hot Springs, announced this week that Donald C. Coffman, a grad uate of the University of Indiana School of Medicine and currently completing h i s post-graduate trainino' in Davton. Ohk. will visit Hot Springs this week-end.
