Mrs. English was a lifelong resi dent of Madison County. . Surviving are the husband, Fred English; two daughters, Mrs. Roy P. Ledford of Mar Hill and Mrs. Bruce Crawford Lof Wilmington; a son, Emerson of .Mars Hill; two sisters, Mrs. George Gordon of Jonesboro, Tenn., and six grand children. Services were held at 2:30 p, m. Tuesday in California Creek Saptiet Church, of which she was a member. The Revs. Robert Holt and James B. Long Jr., officiated and burial was in Mars Hill Ceme tery. Pallbearers were H. L.
