Was ole Santa gooti to you this Christmas T He was good to me and we did a pretty wild thing . we took off in that snow the day after Christmas and went to Baltimore for a few days! Had to go up to see Agnes and Henry and Pearl and her friend, Bob, that she has been telling us about 1 He was a very nice person and ail at our loud talking didn't run him out of the house, but I guess he might have wondered how three girls could talk so much, so fast! On the way up, we stopped at Wytheville to visit Shqpe's par ents and they had about 12 inches1 (of snow. The next night we open near Washington, D. C, and got into a snow storm before we finally reached Shupe's ibrother'a home at Centreville, Virginia. We moved ablaut 100 yards in about one hour and I was beginning to think we had "better stood in bed at Walnut"! Charlotte and George just took every thing as fun', but was the old worry wart! It was good to get back to school Monday, and very nice today to) have a holiday again! I didn't sleep too well last night, getting up every hour or so to check if we could stay home today! I have graded some papers and eaten some left over Christmas candy and now ready to get the car out and maybe try a trip to the Ijig city to see if my students are all out or home studying for mid terms! I just know Larry Hughey, Calvin Rhinehart, Robert Cameron, M. J. Ball, Jackie Ball and many others are out checking the roads worrying about how we can get back Wednesday for classes! I didn't have time to check out all the pretty rings and gifts the girls got, and was surprised to learn that Kathlyn and Larry Payne got married before Christ mas. Hiss Plemmons got a lovely new camera, but hasn't offered to take MY picture. Steve Chandler said fee gave a ring for Christmas and Pat McDevitt was wearing a pretty ooe from Gary. I think there mifdV bjure been others, but I might gel "whupped" if I told all I heard yesterday! Did you watch all the bowl games? I did some of tJhem, but wasn't too interested in any one of them. I think Shupe almost wore his eyes out watching so many one day. I was disappointed last night that the Tar Heels didn't do better against the Game cocks, but I guess that was a ter rible wall to go against those tall J fellows. Sorry our boys dropped j one, but I think it was a matter j of tall boys up at North Iiuncom- j be. Congratulations to our girls for topping their lassies! OBSERVED Think Donna!
