We use to have them every year up until 1868 and wel find the citizens business being( conducted in the same manner 101 years later. In today's world, it k impossible to anticipate the nec essary flexibility to be responsive to the needs of the people. As? an example, take the recent situ ation created by a Federal Court! We have a; responsibility in this area alone which has not been fulfilled and! cannot, unless we are called into special session." Roberts Seeks (Continued from Page One) was shifted into the 24th District. The 24th District includes Madi son, Yancey, Alitcnell, Avery ana Watauga Counties. I pledge to WORK for our DISTRICT to see that it catches up with and hopefully goes ahead of the other districts in the state. Western North Car olina has great potential and I am interested in seeing that we re alize it to the fullest extent pos sible. Allot of work needs to be donei on the LAWS that control oar road funds, education system, ABC reg ulations, insurance regulations, election procedures, legislative ethics, tax distributions, and many, others. There are changes that should be made in each of the1 above and it will take a joint ef fort by several honest and sincere1 Legislators to accomplish this. My desire is to be one of these men. I already know many of the peo ple in the District and want to be come acquainted with the others. I enjoy working with the public, and certainly will appreciate your suggestions, comments, and sup port. WILLIAM P. POWELL All Men's and Women's COATS 33 Discount PENLAND & SONS Marshall, N. C.
