Wednesday, August 19, in a Western North Carolina hospital after a long illness. A member of a pioneer Madison County family, she was the daughter of the late Everett Flynn and Melissa Hensley Chandley, the peat-granddaughter of the Rev. Thomas Rollins, a Western North Carolina minister of the 1800s, and the fifth great-granddaughter of General John Sevier. A graduate of the old Ashevlle Normal School, she was a member of Asheville first Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a charter member and past matron of Marshall Chapter No. 35, Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Mrs. diaries E. A native of Madison County and a resident of Buncombe County for 32 years, Mr. Rector was employed by Bowman Transfer Co., where he had been a truck driver for 25 years without an accident.
