September 24, V ' few A THE LEWIS FAMILY, well-known and popular Gospel singers, will perform at the Ebbs Chapel Parent-Teachers Association meeting to be held in the school auditorium on Friday night, Oct. 9, at 8 o'clock. The nationally known singing family has been appearing on WJBF-TV, Augusta, Ga., for the past 16 years and are seen in 20 states in full color, with half hour and one hour programs of vocal and instrumental music. High Schoolers Can Take Art Course Area high school students who want a taste of college art instruction now will have the chance, thanks to five art majors at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. The tuition free courses began Wednesday in UNC-A's Carmichael Humanities Building. The UNC-A students will teach combining of color and form to create good compositions, drawing, graphic design and art appreciation with studio projects. Mr. and Mrs. David Chandler of Greeneville, Tenn. visited Mr. Chandler's aunt, Mrs. Andy Chandler, on Saturday. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Henderson over the weekend were their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mis. Arnold King, and their son, Tracy; their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.Stevie Henderson, and their son in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs Gene Meadows, all of Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Johnson of Lnglewood, Fla. visited Mr Johnson's brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Robert Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. ('inner Johnson, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Landers ol Huntsville, S. C. are spending two weeks' vacation with their parents, Mr and Mrs Claude Landers and Mi. and Mrs Nolan Adams. Mrs Lena Girdner of Greeneville, Tenn. is spending this week with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Linnie Gosnell. Mrs. Cloice Plemmons returned to her home on Monday from Memorial Mission Hospital where she had been receiving treatment. Mrs. Frank Brown left Tuesday night for her home in Alexandria, Va after spending several days with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. James Allen, and their two children. NEED WATER? Club met Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. in the library for a workshop in decoupage and pictures and cards, made with pressed flowers, with Mrs. Sallie Roberts Lashley of Mills River as instructor. Mrs. Lashley is the daughter of Mrs. Loy P. Roberts and the late Mr. Roberts. Mrs. Lashley's children were also present, as were Mrs. Eva Best, sister of Mrs. Harry Davis; and Mrs. Mattee Mashburn, who visited the workshop. Mrs. Best was also a guest at the regular monthly meeting, which was held in the afternoon in the library.
