November 1 2, 1970 - Page 2 Myers Quartet MARS Entertains Lions The Myers Dormitory Quartet, of Mars Hill College, entertained the Marshall Lions at their semi-monthly dinner meeting at the Rock Cafe Monday night with a program of religious music. Members of the quartet included Terry Chenoweth, Neal St. Clair, Michael Nolt and Ken Byerly. Mr. Byerly is director of music at the Marshall Baptist Church. C Mrs. Arthur Duck returned recently from a visit to Mr. and Mrs. McKinley Mosley and family in Lexington, Ky. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Edwards have gone to Clearwater, Fla. to visit their son and daughur-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Edwards and family. Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kimbrell of Detroit, Mich, were guests of his sister, Mrs. N.S.Whitaker last week. Zink and family went to Raleigh over the weekend for a visit to their son, Billy, who is a student at N. C. State University. Miss Martha Jarvis plans to return Sunday to her home in Glen Burnie, Md. after a month's visit here to her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Tilson and their little son. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wells have received word of the birth of a son to their granddaughter, Mary and husband in Johnson City. She is the former Mary Well, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wells, Jr., of Johnson City, Tenn. I Several members of the Mars Hill Baptist Church, along with the pastor, the Rev. Richard Price, and Miss Sue Fitzgerald, are attending the Baptist State Convention meeting in Greensboro this week. Personal Mention Mr. and Mrs. George McConnell and son, Eddie, of Miami, Fla. spent several days here last week with Mrs. McConnell's mother, Mrs. Wiley Roberts, and Dr. and Mrs. J. L. McElroy. David McElroy spent the weekend of Oct. 30, in Charlotte with his sister, Miss Diane McElroy and brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Pender McElroy. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Hutton of Baltimore, Md. are spending several days this week with Mrs. Sutton's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George B. Shupe and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Martha Rector returned Monday night from visiting her son and I daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Messer in Nashville, Tenn. Mr. Messer has been promoted by Overnight Company in Nashville and will be moving to Louisville, Ky. later this month. Mr. and Mrs: John Roberson of Taylorsville spent Saturday and Sunday in Marshall with Mr. and Mrs. Guy White, Mrs. William Worley and Hubert Worley. Mr. and Mrs. Overton A. Book Club Celebrates Anniversary Members of the Marshall Book Club celebrated its 31st anniversary with a luncheon meeting Nov. 9 at Mars Hill College. . Guest speaker was Dr. Richard Hoffman, Dean of Mars Hill College. His topic was "The whole approach to higher education in relation to Mars Hill College." Dr. Hoffman works with the Community Development Institute, where the students actually work in the community with people in both Madison and Buncombe counties. Members present were: Mrs. O. A. Gregory, Mrs. Walter Ramsey, Mrs. J. L. McElroy, Mrs. Wiley Roberts, Mrs. John Corbett, Mrs. Jim Story, Mrs. P. H. Dinwiddie, Mrs. R. R. Ramsey and Mrs. W. T. McKinney.
