Mr. Morgan also attended a
session of the North Carolina
Folklore Society while in

promoted to Army sergeant
upon graduation from the
Noncommissioned Officer
Candidate School at Ft.
Benning, Ga.
During his 12 weeks of
training, the sergeant
received instruction in
leadership, light weapons,
infantry tactics, map reading
and communications.
He was selected for the
course under a specialized
Army program that grants
rapid promotions to out
standing individuals.
He entered the Army in 1970
and completed basic training
at Ft. Knox, Ky.
He is the grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Payne, of
Marshall.

TV channel Tusday, Jan. 12,
from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The program will give in
formation filing requirements
for 1970, and major changes
related to the farmers. A 30
minute question and answer
'period will be conducted at
the end of the formal
presentation. The questions
will be taken by phone and
answers will be given by
television during the program.
