Rich Jr., who lives in Weaverville, has earned a doctor of musical arts degree in performance and pedagogy from the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, N. Y. She was a native of Madison County, had lived in Bun combe County for 45 years and a retired Buncombe County school teacher. Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. John S. Vandiver of the home; a sister, Mrs. Sherman Tweed, Mara Hill; a brother, Rollins Jarvis of Mars Hill; and two grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p jn. Thursday in Piney Mountain Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. M. H. Kendall officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles A. She was a member of Carolina Baptist Tabernacle, where she was former treasurer and assistant teacher of the Ladies' Bible class and was active in the committee for providing Thanksgiving baskets to needy families. Mrs. Harris was known in her area for the preserving and freezing of her home grown vegetables and fruits, which she shared with friends and neighbors. Surviving are the husband, Clarence L. Harris; the mother, Mrs. Jane Edwards of Marshall Rt. 2; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Bass of Mars Hill; and a brother, Paul Edwards of MRS. Tilson, a native of Madison punty and a resident of uncombe County for 51 iars. She was an active mber of Beverly Hills 'Baptist Church, and a member of the Fidelia Sunday School class. She taught the Young People's class at the church. Surviving are two sons, Clyde and Ernest Tilson, both of Asheville; a daughter, Mrs. Worth Frink of Asheville; a brother, O. Clyde Holcombe of Wilmington; a sister, Mrs. Matilda Holcombe of Mars Hill; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services were held at 2:30 1 pjn. Thursday in Beverly Hills Baptist Church.
