MRS. A. J. RUNNION
Mrs. A. J. (Delia) Runnion,
98, of Hot Springs died
Saturday morning, Dec. S,
1970, at her home after a brief
Illness.
She was a native of Cocke
County, Terni. and had lived
most of her life in Madison
County. She was the oldest
member of Dorland Memorial
Presbyterian Church of Hot
Springs.
Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. Thomas Russell of Hot
Springs; three sons, Claude of
Hot Springs, Walter of Dan
dridge, Tenn. and Howard
Runnion of AsbeviOe; seven
grandchildren, 11 great
grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Services were held at 2:30
p.m. Sunday in Dorland
Memorial Presbyterian
Church.
The Revs. George Moore
and Phillip Nicholas of
ficiated. Burial was in the
family cemetery at Walnut
Creek.
Pallbearers were Willie
Collins, Kenneth Burgin, Gene
Autrey, Jack Ebbs, James
Gentry and Burder Fowler.
Bowman-Duckett Funeral
Home was in charge of
arrangements.

who died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1970,
in an Asheville nursing home,

nesday in North Fork Baptist
Church, of which she was a
member.

resident of Madison County
and the widow of Elbert L.
Buckner, who died last July.

Buckner, all of Marshall Rt. 7 ;
a daughter, Mrs. H. E.
Plemmons of Hot Springs Rt.
1; a brother, Barnett Buckner
of Marshall Rt. 7; a sister,
Mrs. Ada Payne of Marshall
Rt. 2; 10 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.

Jackson Allison, 64, of Hot
Springs Rt. 2, who died Sun
day, Dec. 6, 1970, at his home,
were held at 2 p jn. Tuesday in
Bethel Christian Church.
The Revs. Claude Surrett
and Lloyd Young officiated.
Burial was in Roaring Fork
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cecil
Pangle, Wade Gardin, Dale
Keener, Dale Balding, Verna
Holt and Homer Plemmons.
Mr. Allison was a retired
farmer.
Surviving are the widow,
Mrs. Nora Mae Allison; five
sons, Clifford of Nashville,
Tenn., Dewey of Hot Springs
Rt. 2, Spencer of Florida,
Arnold of Hazelwood and
Bobby Allison of High Point;
three daughters, Mrs. Ed
Foster of Ohio, Mrs. Billy
Hannah of Hot Springs Rt. 2
and Mrs. Richard Snerer of
South Carolina; two stepsons,
Clarence and Jerry Lunsford
of Maryland; two step
daughters, Mrs. John Wyatt of
New Jersey and Mrs. Edna
Shettey of Waynesvllle; two
brothers, Henry of
Waynesvllle Rt. 2 and Weaver
Allison of Hot Springs Rt. 2; a
half brother, Wilson Payne of
Hot Springs Rt. 2; two sisters,
Mrs. Hubert Hagins of Hot
Springs Rt. 2 and Mrs.

grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
WILLIAM MASHBURN
William A. Mashburn, 81, of
Marshall Rt. 2, died Wed
nesday afternoon, December
2, 1970, in a Canton rest home
after a long illness.
He was a lifelong resident of
Madison County and a retired
farmer.
Surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. Roy Campbell
of Riverside, Calif., and Mrs.
Paul Guthrie of Westland,
Mich.; four sisters, Mrs.
Minnie Edwards of
Statesville, Mrs. Maudie
Sprinkle and Mrs. Georgia
Fisher, both of Weaverville
and Mrs. Delia Ingle of
Asheville; five brothers, Sam
and Arthur, both of Asheville
and Elmer, Willard and
Lester Mashburn, all of
Weaverville; three grand
children and eight great
grandchildren. Services were held at 2:30
p.m. Saturday in Old Bull
Creek Baptist Church, of
which he was a member.
The Revs. Roy Keller and
Jack Jones officiated. Burial
was in the church
cemetery. Pallbearers were
Howard and Lark Green,
Sammy and Arlis Moore,
Clyde Buckner and Bill Silver.
