MISS GAIL CAPPS
Miss Gail Cynthia Capps, 14,
of Rt. 3 Weaverville, died
Wednesday July 28, 1973
A native of Madison County,
she had lived in Buncombe
County for the past three
years. She attended Red Oak
School.
Surviving are the parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Howard W.
Capps of Weaverville; four
sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Hipps of
Asheville, Mrs. Ray George of
Mars HiU, Mrs. Wnedell
Maxwell of Weaverville and
Miss Vickie Capps of the
home.
Services were held at 2:30
p.m. Saturday at Laurelton
Chapel Freewill Baptist
Church, of which she was a
member. The Rev. Of ford
Hensley officiated. Burial was
in the church cemetery.
Cousins were pallbearers.
Bowman-Duckett Funeral
Home, was in charge of
arrangements.
MRS. DAWSON WALLIN
Services for Mrs. Cora Mace
Wallin, 90, of Rt. 6 Marshall,
who died July 25, 1973 were
held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at
Walnut Creek Baptist Church
of which she was a member.
The Revs. J. J. Slagle and
Gerald Sprinkle officiated.
Burial was in Roberts
Cemetery. Grandsons were
pallbearers.
A lifelong resident of
Madison County, she was the
widow of Dawson Wallin who
died in 1963.
Surviving are four sons,
Maco and Hiriam Wallin of
Marshall, Frank Wallin of
Washington, D. C. and Charles
Wallin of Horse Shoe; four
daughters, Mrs. Ralph Barns
and Mrs. Dan Flynn of Mar
shall, Mrs. W. B. Hunter of
Swannanoa and Mrs. Leslie
Myers of Chillicothe, Ohio; a
half sister, Mrs. Matilda
Staler of Sylva; a brother,
Newton Mace of Sylva; 20
grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren. Bowman-Duckett Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs.
Margaret Albright Corbett, 91,
of Shelby, who died Saturday,
July 28, 1973 in a Charlotte
hospital after a long illness,
were held Monday at 2 p. m. in
the chapd-of - Luti-AneteU -Funeral
Home in Shelby. The
service was conducted by
Han-ell Wood of Mars Hill and
burial was in Cleveland
Memorial Park, Shelby.
Pallbearers were Jimmy
Corbett, John A. Corbett, Ken
Sanford, Bill Fox, Bobby Ellis
and Hugh Miller.
Mrs. Corbett was the widow
of J. O. Corbett. Surviving are
two sons, John O. Corbett of
Marshall and James W.
Corbett of Greenville, S. C;
two daughters, Mrs. Margaret
C. Whitfield of Richmond, Va.
and Mrs. Lois C. McCarty of
Charlotte, one sister, Mrs.
Carrie Overman of Mebane,
N. C; also 9 grandchildren
and several great
grandchildren. Prior to her illness Mrs.
Corbett had made her home in
Marshall for several years
where she was an active
member of the Presbyterian
Church and the Marshall
Garden dub.

James A. Norton, 36, of 176
Davenport Road, Asheville,
died Sunday, July 29, 1973 in a
Western North Carolina
hospital after a long illness.
A native of Madison County,
he had lived in Buncombe
County for the past eight
years. He was a former em
ploye of the Drexel Furniture
Co., a member of Pleasant
Valley Baptist Church and an
Army veteran. He was a son of
the late Luther Norton.
Surviving are the widow,
Mrs. OIlie Jean Norton; two
