BANKS Mrs. Hattle Wild Banks, 75, of Rt. 1 Old Fort, died Sunday March 24, 1974 in an Asheville hospital after a brief Illness. A native of Madison County, she had lived in Old Fort 50 years. Surviving are the husband, R. E. Banks; two daughters, Miss Millie Banks of the home and Mrs. Jsephine Epley of Marion; two sons, Frank Banks of Old Fort and Earl Banks of West Asheville; four brothers, David Wild of Greeneville, Tenn., Carl Wild of Ormand Beach, Fla., the Rev. Joe Wild of Marshall and Leland Wild of Hen derson ville; seven grand children and two great grandchildren. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Walnut Creek Baptist Church. The Revs. Joe Sprinkle and Ronnie Owen officiated. Burial was in Roberts Cemetery. Pallbearers were David and Richard Banks, Andrew, Frank and Ernest Ball and Wade Miller. Bowman Funeral Home was in charge. WILLIAM M. MOORE Services for William McCoy Moore, 71, of Hot Springs, who died Sunday, March 24, 1974, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wed nesday at Hot Springs Methodist Chruch. The Rev. Baxter Proffitt officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Friends were pallbearers. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County and a retired employe of the North Carolina Highway Com mission. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Josie Holder Moore; two sons, Charles Moore of Bellville, Mich, and Ronnie Moore of Hot Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Moses of Newton and Mrs. John Lundy of Marshall; four sisters, Mrs. Tisha Harrison, Mrs. Josie Maney, Mrs. Flora McFall and Mrs. Ella Bom well of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. . Bowman Funeral Home was in charge. WILLIAM R. COOK William R. Cook, 69, of Alexander Rt. 1 died Thursday March 21, 1974 in an Asheville hospital after a long illness. A native of Madison County, he had lived in Alexander for six years and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Alexander Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Kent Cook; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Buchanan of Swan nan oa; a son, Wayne Cook of Hot Springs; a sister, Mrs. Lola Revis of Swannanoa; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Missionary Baptist Church. The Revs. Joe Honeycutt and Robert Ballard officiated. Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. In Fairview Cemetery in Hot Springs with C. D. Bowman officiating. ' , Thursday, March 28, Deaths & 'Funerals JAMES MARLER James Marler, ; 31,' : of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Marshall, died March 18, 1974, in a Detroit hospital from injuries received in the car train accident. He was the son of Mrs. Pauline Cooper Marler and the late Caney Marler, of Marshall. Survivors include the mother; one sister, Mrs. Wanda Martinez, of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Caney Marler, Jr., of California; and Robert William Marler, of the home; and uncles and aunts of Marshall, Brevard and Leicester. Burial services were held in Detroit. MRS. P. E. CARVER Mrs. Anna Mae Morrow Carver, 82, of Rt. 2 Leicester died Friday, March 22, 1974 in an Asheville hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Plato E. Carver. Surviving are a brother, Herman W. Morrow of Black Mountain; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence Freeman of Leicester; and a number of nieces and nephews.
