be in the best interest of the
people of Madison County that
two new townships be

should be established as
townships;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS
of Elections is concerned with
convenience and efficiency in
the exercise of the franchise
by the citizens of Madison
County ; and it is apparent that
the presently constituted
Marshall precinct is too large
and unwieldy, and the Sandy
Mush precinct is much too
small; and the voting habits,
total registration, and con

been duly considered.
The best interests of the
voters of the Sandy Mush and
Marshall precincts will be
better served in terms of
economy, convenience and
efficiency, by the absorption
of Sandy Mush precinct into
the Marshall precinct, of
which it was formerly a part,
and by aubeequent division
of the merged precinct into
two precincts with a more
equitable number of voters In

Mishaps Plague
Celebration Here On 4th
Although the Marshall
Wagon Train and the Rodeo
here Friday and Saturday
were successful, there were a
few mishaps which marred
the celebration during the 4th
of July week.
The major mishap occurred
Thursday night after the
wagon train had stopped in the
Sandy Mush section for the
night. Following supper,
many pitched horseshoes and
enjoyed other relaxing games.
It was during this period that
Ronnie Kent, one of the two
sons of Mr. and Mrs. John
Frederick Kent, of Marshall,
became too excited when he
threw a "ringer" while pit
ching horseshoes and fell on a
hunting knife be had in his
belt. He suffered a painful cut
near his knee which required
ten stitches. However, Ronnie
was able to be at the Rodeo
Friday afternoon and is
rapidly recuperating.
