WILDLIFE ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS Tommy England (left) and LeMar Worley, both of Madison County, posted notification that all birds of prey are protected by both state and federal laws. Harassment or shooting of hawks and owls could bring a maximum fine of $500 and-or six months in prison. Shooting an eagle could bring a stiffer fine. Any person with information relating to birds of prey being harassed should contact the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service or the N. iC. Wildlife Resources Commission.
