Clark who served the Marshall-Walnut charge for 12years (I960-1972) During the impressive service, Mrs Irene Holcombe Clark of Weaverville, widow of the Rev. Mr. Clark, was presented an engraved silver bowl from the United Methodist Women and an American flag was presented the church from the UMW in honor of the Rev Mr . Clark Mrs J. L. McElroy was arrangements chairman for the special services Mrs Grace English is chairman of the Administrative Board of the Marshall-Walnut Charge, and Mrs 0 A Gregory is president of the Marshall United Methodist Women. Burnette Sr of Weaverville The Rev Mike Tweed is pastor of the Marshall-Walnut Charge Following the service, members and guests enjoyed a luncheon in the fellowship room of the church 16 Compete In Contest Sixteen Madison High School students will be among the contestants at Western Carolina University's seventh annual High School Mathematics Contest to be held April 28 in Hoey Auditorium at WCU A total of 617 contestants from 45 WNC high schools will compete for top honors in 4 contest divisions ? Algebra II, and comprehensive The five highest-scoring contestants in each division will be presented certificates of merit, and plaques will be awarded to the three senior high schools and one junior high school whose students earn the highest average score.
