Tobie Sprinkle, dog; Elizabeth Cheek, foods and nutrition; Trinia Breedlove, human development; and Brenda George, horticultural science Special recognition was given to Jeff Merrill and Alma Stills who received this year's "I Dare You" Award Hayes Run 4-H Club was announced as the 1977 4-H Club of the Year and received a trophy and $25 for their achievements Three special Friend-of-4-H awards were presented to Larry Burda, personnel manager of Micro Switch; David Wyatt, principal of Madison High; and Tommy England, wildlife protector in Mars Hill. Following the program all 4 H members and program participants were invited to the achievement night dance in the Madison High cafeteria featuring the Sound Corp , a local disco made up of 4-H members James Brigman and Tobie Sprinkle Enterprises Mountains ot Madison Enterprises is a new business in Madison County. Its em ployees are all physically or mentally handicapped in dividuals The adult program of the Mars Hill Handi-School has made many changes in the last few months. The program's new name. Mountains of Madison, represents a new positive direction. According to Kathy Fefer. supervisor of the adult program. "Mountains of Madison is no longer just an adult school It is now a work and training center. All em ployees are involved in doing useful and necessary work Work is organized by work stations and the employees are assigned to a job that suits their skills Each employee of Mountains of Madison is also provided a specialized program for learning basic independence skills such as cooking, mending, telling time, using money, reading and mathematics and socialization. Mountains of Madison, located at the Mars Hill Baptist Church serves adults (16 years and up) in Madison County who are physically or mentally han dicapped ,f you have a relative or friend that might desire to be part of Mountains of Madison, please contact Alice Mahy or Kathy Fefer at 689 2026."
