Carol Ramsey Carol Davis Ramsey, SO, of Route 1, Marshall, died May II in an Asheville hospital ifter an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Madison County, she was a laughter of the late Emmitt ind Neta Belle Allen Davis ind the wife of Caney Ramsey Jr., who died in 1964. She was anployed by the Madison bounty Board of Education as > truant officer for 15 years. Surviving are a son, Tim Ramsey of the home; three laughters, Deborah Ball of Marshall, Carolyn Ramsey of the home and Lisa Scovill of Champaign, PL; three sisters, Margarite Anderson of Hot Springs, Freda Jenkins of Columbus, Ohio and Pat Sluder of Alexander; four brothers, David Davis of Hot Springs, Fred Davis of Houston, Texas, Charles Davis of Pompano Beach, PTa., and Clarence Davis of Mobile, Ala., and five grand children. Services were held at 3 p.m. May 23 in the First Baptist Church, Marshall, of which the was a member. The Rev. Mike Minnix and the Rev. Seorge Moore officiated. Burial was in Bowman-Rector Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leonard Ponder, William M. Roberts, Jackie Ball, Morris Frisby Sr., Millard Tipton, Hoyle Duncan, Zeno Ponder and E.Y. Ponder. Myrtle Burgin Myrtle Burgin, 93, of Route 3, Hixson, Tenn., died May 19 in a Dayton, Tenn., hospital after an extended illness. A native of Tennessee and a former resident of Hot Spr ings, she was a daughter of the late John and Sue Anna Goode Sanders. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. S.O. Izlar of Hixson; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Services were held at II a.m. last Wednesday in Oorland Memorial Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. William Emerson of ficiated. Burial was in Burgin Family Cemetery. Bowman Funeral Home was in charge. D.H. Wilde Sr. Dwight H. Wilde Sr., 83, of loute 7, Marshall, died May X) in an Asheville hospital titer an extended illness. Sbe was the wife of tbe late Or. I.E. Burnette Sr. and a daughter of tbe late T.M. and Emily Houston Wallin. Surviving are three sons, Biard Burnette of Swannanoa, Terry Cooke Burnette of tbe home and I.E. Burnette Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; five brothers, Jess, Floyd and Lance Wallin of Marshall and Cory and J. Brian Wallin of Mars Hill; seven grand children and four great grandchildren. Services were held at 3 p.m. Friday in Mars Hill Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Richard Price and the Rev. William Lynch officiated. Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery. Capps Funeral Home was in charge. J.LI. Kamsey J.D. Ramsey, 63, of Hot Spr ings died unexpectedly May 1$ in an Ashevilie hospital. A native of Madison County, he was a veteran of World War II and a son of the late Andrew J. and Cona Wallen Ramsey. He was a retired lumberman. Surviving are three sons, James H. Ramsey of Greensboro, Monroe Ramsey of States ville and Joseph B. Ramsey of Eufaula, Ala. ; two daughters, Dorris LeVan and Sybil Ridenhour , of States ville; three brothers, Obray and Edison Ramsey of Marshall and Hubert Ramsey of Nebo ; a sister, Faye Parker of Candler; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. last Wednesday in Ramsey Family Cemetery, Sodom Laurel. Bowman Funeral Home was in charge. John W. Buckner Services for John Will Buckner, 82, of Route 3 Mars Hill, who died May 23 were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Little Ivy Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Hie Rev. Joe Hooeycutt and the Rev. Harrell Wood officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. A lifelong resident of Madison County, he was the son of J.F. Buckner of Mars Hill and the late Mittie Ray Buckner. He was a retired farmer and was a former employee of Woodcrafters. Surviving are his wife, Maude Edwards Buckner; two sons, Roger Dale Buckner of Weaverville and John Bruce Buckner of Hen dersonville; four sisters, Virgie Ball, Myrtle Rice, and Fuschia Woody of Mars Hill amKVivtan Taylor of Burn sville; a brother, Roy Buckner of Burnsville; and two grandchildren.
