Vickie is the daughter of Mr .
and Mrs. R.D. Metcalf of Mara
Hill. Mrs. Dorothy Shelton of
Weaverville is mother of the
bridegroom.
The bride was given in soar
riage by her father. She wore
a formal gown of white organ
za with a white silk overlay
appliqued with Venetian lace
The empire waist was ac
cented by a full skirt and a
lace trimmed chapel-length
train. The fitted bodice was
covered with lace accented by
tiny seed pearls. The long
sheer split bishop sleeves
were edged in lace trimmed
with pearls. The' veil of silk il
lusion was edged in lace and
fell from a matching lace cap
lined with pearls. Vickie car
ried a bouquet of peach
sweetheart roses, apricot car
nations and babies' breath.

gown was identical to that of
the flower girl.

'October Show' Coming
The fourth annual "October
Show", a judged competition
for the artists of Western
North Carolina, will be held
Sept. 23 through Nov. 2 at the
Asheville Art Museum in
downtown Asheville.
This year's "October Show"
has been expanded into an "all
media " show and works in the
following categories will be
accepted: prints, drawings,
watercolors, paintings,
sculpture, clay, fiber, wood,
metal, glass, and
photography.

$500, $250 and $100 will be

cream mints together with the
wedding cookies and nuts
were served in crystal bowls
