Photographer Scott Lunsford found out all about hot air balloon racing in Asheville a few weeks ago. He went along for the ride, and some photos, in the "rabbit and hounds" race. Object of race: The "rabbit" or Coca Cola balloon gets a 15 minute start on the "hounds." After the "rabbit" has landed, the "hound" landing closest to it is declared the winner. Photos show: (1) WISE Radio employees in the Coca Cola balloon, (2) The "rabbit" landing behind A-B Tech, (3) "Hound" balloons taking off from the Asheville Mall, (4) The interior of the in flated balloon, (5) Balloons in flight in mist over Asheville, (6) Bystanders watching crew deflate a balloon after it had landed.
